Camlock Fittings | Connection Guide

Camlock Couplings are the most cost effective and widely used coupling in the world due to the variety of applications in which it can be used. Camlocks can be used in industrial, agriculture and domestic settings for a number of uses. Camlocks are suitable for piping, tubing, hose and tanks carrying liquids and powders such as fuels, foodstuffs, pumps, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and many more.

How to install Camlock Couplings

Camlock couplings have a simple easy-to-use design. The coupling consists of an adapter, coupler and assembly handle, finger rings, pins and safety clips.

To connect the coupling firstly extend the arms and place the adapter into the coupler. Once the adapter and coupler have been placed together press the handles down with normal pressure. Under normal conditions safety locks are not needed. The Camlock adaptor and coupler are designed to minimize instability in liquids and gases as well as abrasion from dry products.

Precautionary Points to Consider

  • Do not exceed maximum pressure limit when in use
  • Only use application liquids when using camlock couplings
  • To prevent sealing material from wear or leakage do not exceed temperature range
  • Do not mix with powder or sand to prevent leakage or blocking
  • Ensure the hose has no cracks to prevent dropping or leakage
  • When installing camlock do not exceed maximum tightening to prevent damage
  • Do not beat, bend or stretch the camlock coupling to prevent damage
  • Use clean filtered fluid
  • Do not remove coupling
